About
Mahogany Birth Tribe
At Mahogany Birth Tribe, we believe that everyone should feel empowered, loved and supported before, during and after their birth experience. Our mission is to provide evidence-based information, compassionate care and unrelenting support to clients as they embark on the joyous journey of parenting. We are committed to advocating for birth equity, justice and healthy outcomes for all birthing people, especially birthing people of color.
Lisah is the founder and CEO of Mahogany Birth Tribe. She is a DONA trained birth and postpartum doula and a CAPPA trained lactation educator. Lisah is passionate about all things birth! Her journey as a birth worker was conceived when she learned about the dire maternal health crisis Black and Brown women face in America. For the past decade, Lisah has had the privilege of serving as a social worker with several communities throughout New York City. She’s excited to use the skills she’s honed as a social worker in her role as a birth worker and advocate. When she is not doula-ing, she’s most likely at a live concert, nose deep in a book, soaking up the sun outdoors or traveling.
